Fortinet Product Overview
Fortinet is a leading provider of Unified Threat Management (UTM) network security solutions for enterprise and service provider environments. Fortinet's FortiGate product line and FortiGuard security subscription services, which together provide an array of integrated network security functions including anti-virus, firewall, virtual private networking, intrusion prevention (IPS), web filtering, anti-spam and traffic optimization. Fortinet's appliances, from the FortiGate-50 series for small businesses and branch offices to the FortiGate-5000 series for large enterprises and services providers, are based on a proprietary technology platform, which includes FortiASIC, a proprietary ASIC specifically designed for accelerated processing of certain security functions, and FortiOS, a proprietary operating system that provides the foundation for all security functions. In order to solve the security problems for businesses and service providers, the Unified Threat Management (UTM) market has emerged.
